چکیده
Activator protein-1 (AP-1) is a transcription factor that consists of diverse group members including Jun, Fos, Maf, and ATF. AP-1 involves number processes such as proliferation, migration, invasion in cells. Dysfunctional activity associated with cancer initiation, development, invasion, migration drug resistance. Therefore, potential target for targeted therapy. Currently, some small molecule inhibitors targeting have been developed tested, showing anticancer effects. However, complex its structure function, different dimers may play roles type cancers. more research needed to reveal the specific mechanisms cancer, how select appropriate treatment strategies. Ultimately, this review summarizes combination therapy cancer.

Small Molecule Inhibitors Targeting Activator Protein 1 (AP-1)
Activator protein 1 (AP-1) is a pivotal transcription factor that regulates a wide range of cellular processes including proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation, survival, cell migration, and transformation. Accumulating evidence supports that AP-1 plays an important role in several severe disorders including cancer, fibrosis, and organ injury, as well as inflammatory disorders such as asthma...
متن کاملPhosphorylation of BATF regulates DNA binding: a novel mechanism for AP-1 (activator protein-1) regulation.
BATF is a member of the AP-1 (activator protein-1) family of bZIP (basic leucine zipper) transcription factors that form transcriptionally inhibitory, DNA binding heterodimers with Jun proteins. In the present study, we demonstrate that BATF is phosphorylated in vivo on multiple serine and threonine residues and at least one tyrosine residue. Reverse-polarity PAGE revealed that serine-43 and th...
متن کاملTransgenic mice demonstrate AP-1 (activator protein-1) transactivation is required for tumor promotion.
Activator protein-1 (AP-1) is a transcription factor that consists of either a Jun-Jun homodimer or a Jun-Fos heterodimer. Transactivation of AP-1 is required for tumor promoter-induced transformation in mouse epidermal JB6 cells and for progression in mouse and human keratinocytes. Until now, the question of whether AP-1 transactivation is required for carcinogenesis in vivo has remained unans...
متن کاملTargeted cancer therapy: review article
Cancer is one of the most dangerous health problems of today modern societies which has an increasing rate especially in developing countries. There are many diverse ongoing treatment attempts trying to defeat cancer. Despite that, scientists have been unable to find a permanent cure for this disease. In many cases although there is a successful first response in patients, cancer cells are fina...
متن کاملTranscription Factors as Targets for Cancer Therapy: AP-1 a Potential Therapeutic Target
The field of cancer therapy is rapidly moving forward with the development of numerous prospective new agents designed to inhibit cellular factors involved in signal transduction, cell proliferation, and the onset of apoptosis. At the core of these biological processes are transcription factors that are the functional mediators of these effects. Transcription factors are the downstream targets ...
